The brief
The client needed backup power that would actually start and carry the load when the grid failed, both on the day of installation and years later.
What we did
We installed the generator in its weatherproof, sound-insulated enclosure and connected it to the building through a 125 A, four-pole on-load changeover switch. The switch moves the supply safely between the grid and the generator and keeps the two sources from ever being connected together. During servicing we replace the oil filter, the fuel filter and the fuel–water separator. Clean oil protects the engine, and clean, water-free fuel protects the injection system.
The result
A safe, correctly connected backup supply, maintained so it is ready when an outage happens.
